Vegetable oils are sometimes referred to as fixed oils because they are not as volatile (easy to evaporate) as essential oils. Most essential oils are so strong that a little goes a long way. Essential oils should be diluted in carrier oils for use in massage. Vegetable Oils make an excellent base in which to dilute essential oils for body care products. Our vegetable oils are 100% pure and natural.

Evening Primrose Oil is a clear, light yellow expeller pressed oil that is rich in GLA (gamma linolenic acid). It is food grade and is often recommended for problem skin conditions. Store in cool dark or refrigerated area.

Starwest Evening Primrose Oil is a rich natural source of the polyunsaturated fatty acids Gamma Linolenic Acid (9% GLA) and Cis-Linoleic Acid. Starwest Evening Primrose Oil is not refined or hydrogenated.

Gamma-Linolenic acid is a choice ingredient in cosmetic products due to the fact it maintains the skin elasticity. It is particularly recommended for dry and devitalized skin. Evening primrose oil presents moisturizing, nourishing and restructuring properties due to its high content in unsaturated fatty acids. It thus has anti-ageing properties, but also presents seboregulating and nail strengthening activities. In formulation, it is a compound of the oily phase. It is thus a recommended ingredient in:

• moisturizing creams for dry skin
• restructuring creams for around the eyes and mature skin
• anti-wrinkle creams
